When I lived there, the excuse was how the power grid couldn’t support the whole country charging vehicles, sideways blaming 3/11 and Fukushima Dai-1. …But in the same breath a charge is led to switch homes away from imported natural gas to electric 100% since it’s cheaper and there’s more wind, hydro, tidal and geothermal coming online.
