my oldest brother is a newly minted resident of Georgia and registered to vote a few weeks ago. The political parties are fighting for his attention in his mailbox. This is life in a swing state right now.
Did the Sunday afternoon canvass here in Gwinnett Co. GA. I’m seeing a whole lot more of these than I thought I would for this area. Also great conversations with my neighbors. I’m glad I can do my part in educating and motivating my fellow Gwinnecians 🗳️

So here comes the “random Tokyo every now and then” thing I’m starting.
I figured this was coming eventually. The Shinkansen has no grade crossings and is essentially a long distance high speed metro line when it comes to how it’s operated. Signaling already uses ATC with auto-parking at major stops to help line up doors with platform gates. And with the exception of the Yamagata Shinkansen, it shares no tracks with any conventional zairaisen train services. #TokyoTrainNerd #TrainsOfJapan

I was this many years old when I was told it was going to be an extension of the Red Line rail service from North Springs Station, about 5 miles away. Now all we get is a noisy, smoggy bus island in between 8 lanes of speeding traffic.

In any other place, this kind of behavior by a candidate seeking to become head of state (or even neighborhood councilman) would spell the end of the line for the campaign.
The USA is truly an exceptional place and a land of opportunity in every sense, apparently.
But this is also the mark of real freedom; we should be proud we are able to have strangeness like this to keep us on our toes.
It should remind us that the price of freedom isn’t free and it’s better to pay the bill for democracy as early as possible before the interest compounds and takes the cost of keeping our liberties out of reach
